In our experience, self-publishing has its challenges — no platform is perfect — but here are some that members of our community have succeeded in using:

Editcetera — This cooperative association of freelance editors, proofreaders, indexers and writers was formed in 1971 by a small group and has grown steadily since then, selecting carefully screened, highly talented and experienced professional freelancers working for a wide variety of clients, including individual authors self-publishing.
